Rashguard Logos

Hey guys,

Not everyone wants a blue or purple rashguard, but most people want the rasguard logo.
Since the old costume hep thread has disappeared, I thought I'd upload some logos that I have.
Feel free to use them, I only ask that you credit me for these and don't claim them as your own.
Circles should be 4.25"

Enjoy!

Halloween 2012

Hey guys,
Halloween is coming up and I thought share some aquabats related costumes ideas.
Video HERE.

AQUABATS UNIFORM:
Most of the uniform pieces can be found on the Aquabats website.
Rashguard blue/purple

They don't sell the belts, but you can always make one.
FEOD Power Belt Tutorial (Coming Soon)

You can also make a quick costume.
Goggles: "Tutorial"
Wristguards: Tutorial
Rashguard: Long sleeve shirt, paint on an A. Or Iron transfer it on.

For Uniform Recourses, Check out the Costume Help Thread on the Forum.

OTHER CHARACTERS:

Space Monster M:
Shave your head, or put on a bald cap.
Paint your head white.
Paint an M on your forehead.
Wear blackout contacts.
Wear all black clothing to simulate nothingness, and you'll look like a floating head(works best at night).

Floating Eye of Death: Noe Valladolid mad this fantastic costume for comic-con. (1)(2)
I talked to him briefly about how he made it, and heres what he told me:
The Eye was a 3' beach ball,
The tentacles were pool noodles(might be hard to find in off season),
The harness was elastic cord covered in pink duct tape.
The eyeball was help on with large velco strips.
Pink wire was used to hold all the arms together.

Eva Mudlark:
Her costume is pretty easy.
Arm Warmers
Belt(that she wears across chest)
Shorts, of the brown variety
Black and Blue "skinny" belts
Duct tape.
The tan tank top.
The black/grey shirt that's been cut into a tank top.
Glasses.
Boots
And badly apply makeup.

Optional:
Lab Coat
Orange Rubber Gloves

Large Yellow/Mustard Button-Up Shirt
Cheap Short Black Wig(badly put on)

I don't even know how to explain that donut store uniform...

RonMark:
DigiCamo Long Sleeve Shirt
"I AM AWESOME" Shirt used to be sold at H&M, but is no longer made. But you could always paint it one, iron on letters from a craft store, or get it made for you online or at one of those mall kiosks.
Ball Chain Necklace. My guess is around 3/8" diameter
Dog Tags His looked larger than normal one's, but I couldn't find it online.
Studded Bracelet
Jeans
I couldn't find his rings. He has two that are square, with black stars.

Martian Girl From Planet V:
Paint your skin Green
Silver Underwear/bikini. I'm not going to link to this... you can google it. there are many options
Blue Wig

If you want to be a bit more modest, or just warmer, you could go as one of the "V Girls" from the "In Color!" Pilot.

So there are a few ideas of fun aquabats related costumes. Of course there are many many more characters you can go as, but now you have a few ideas to spark your imagination.

If you dress up as any of these costume ideas or any other Aquabats related costume, send me a picture and a short description along with your name to: FanMadeAquabats@gmail.com
And I will feature it on a future episode.

The Mighty Dagger of Todd

Hey Guys!

So I was watching The Aquabats! Super Show! and I decided that I wanted my own Mighty Dagger of Todd. About a week later I got a new couch that was covered in cardboard. I knew it was meant to be.

The first thing I did was gather some reference photos. Here's what I got:

One of the hardest Parts about this build, was figuring out whate size to make it. It seems to change size in almost every frame. ( I justify this by remembering that it's a magic sword.)

The Size I decided to go with was the more sword-like dagger:

First I scaled it in photoshop and printed it out on multiple pieces of paper. Then I cut out a blade out of cardboard, and then cut out the parts for the handle and put them around the blade (I don't have any pictures of this part, sorry) I used hot glue for this part.

For the Slanted part of the blade, I first tried doing it in hot glue and that failed miserably. Then I got the idea to use the bottom of a FedEx Pak. That way I knew I had a straight fold. I first put a trail of hot glue down the length of the blade, to hold up the center. I then Glued it onto the blade and trimmed it. If i had thought ahead, I could of made the cardboard blade thinner and used the Pak to create a "cutting edge" on the sides of the blade. I then taped the seam on the edge.

I then used hot glue to fill in the handle.

I then Stared bondo-ing the blade; but I was lazy and hot, so I only did one side (and sanded it quite poorly). For the handle, I decided to go lazy and tape it.

For the eyes, I cut out the shape on some cardstock and then used hot glue to give it the 3D shape. Then glued them in place.
After this, I covered the handle in Elmers white glue and let it dry. This didn't hide the texture of the tape, but made it less evident, and less likely to come undone.

I then, for some reason, painted the entire thing in brown tempera paint, then black. Then I spray painted the handle grey. Then Taped the handle off and sprayed the Blade Silver.

I then taped off the Handle where I wanted the lines and used a paint pen to fill this in. I taped around the eyes and spared them red. Don't forget the nose thing! (the color difference is just the lighting)

I also made a wall mount for it.

____________________________________________

So that's a rough walkthrough of how I made my Mighty Dagger of Todd. I kind of just figured it out as I went.
This build was 100% free; I only used supplies and tools I had. When I get a steady job and can afford to, I want to revisit this build and make it better quality and make resin casts of it (maybe even ones that can glow).

TA!SS! Power Belt Reference

Hey Guys!

I'm currently working on about 10 Power belts rights now, one of them a Super Show belt, I thought I'd share with you some of my research.

The belts that they used for the Super Show are very interesting. They're much more complicated and detailed than they used to be.

Some information about the new belts:

  • All of the colors on the belt are different layers of vinyl, cut and sewn together.
  • There and three different variations of the belt, two used in Ep. 1, and the other used in the rest.
  • There are actually three squares on each side, unlike the two on the design from the '90s.
  • Each of the squares has a "Utility" (guitar pick, pocket, etc.)
  • The belts were made to custom lengths to fit the various girths of the different 'bats.
  • Eaglebones' pick holder is on his left, due to his left-handedness.
  • The pockets are 100% real fake pockets.
  • The reason they changed belts was that they didn't like the material of the first one.

Here are some reference pictures:
Belt used throughout most of Ep. 1, Ep. 4, Ep. 10(the teddy bear's belt)

Belt used for parts of Ep. 1, Ep. 5 and "action shots"

Belt used throughout rest of series

A drawing of the Pocket layout (the empty square should be a "pocket" as well. The UU is just two little flaps, and the vertical lines are a bar of black vinyl on top.)

I'll add more as I get it, and I'll post about my belts when I'm done.
Talk to you guys soon.

Aquabats Obsessed

Hey guys!

Guess what, I'm not dead.
I just haven't posted on this blog in a while, and I appologize. But it was worth it.

The reason it was worth it is because now, I have a show. On the YouTube. It's a show all about the Aquabats. Each episode will inform you about a different Aquabats related topic, as well as give you insider information. New episodes every Wednesday. So far, there's only one episode, and it's nothing really too special. It's just talking about the format of the show.
Next Wednesday's episode will be about The Aquabats Super Show.
Please Subscribe. =]

In Color! Clock

Hey guys,

So yesterday while taking my lunch, I stopped by Ikea. I decided to take a look and see if they had a clock that fit the size of the "In Color!" belt.

I found a clock for a really cheap price. So I got it. I spent some time designing the spiral part (fairly accurately, might I add). Then I sized the actual belt, using pictures and found out that the clock I got was too big. But I already spent all that time on it, so I kept it a clock.
For those who can't tell what the hands are, the hour hand is a missile (was originally white, but got smudged so I marbled it, might fix it...)
The minute hand is the sword
The second hand is what I'm calling the "splew"

As far as the outer circle, I still might paint it silver, but that all depends on money... and how lazy I feel.

I'm thinking of doing a run of these, If anyone would be interested in buying one, let me know.

Hey Guys,

I don't feel like typing anything right now...
I'll post pics later...

The Signed CD is part of the prize I got for winning the February Wikia Homework Assignment Contest. The WHAC is something that happens monthly, where Popsicle puts up a part of the wikia that needs bulking up. The person who puts up the most information wins two prizes. The prizes I won were a signed CD, and a signed copy of MCBC art. The art, I have yet to receive.

Chainsaw Picture Disk

Hey guys,
My Chainsaw picture disk arrived in the mail last night.
Since I don't yet have a record player, I don't know how it sounds or how awesome the different versions are. From what I understand, the two songs are Radiation Skank, and Powdered Milkman.
My goal is to find them all.

P.S.
I've been having fun with facebook's picture thing.
