A Review Of The Last GOGO13 Concert I Went To.

There's something about awkward locations that adds to the greatness of some shows. This concert was quite awesome.
It was one of the first G13 shows in quite a while that seemed planned. The Band was introduced by a soda jerk with a giant fake mustache, and when the curtain opens the entire band was wearing the attire of the classic soda jerk(paper hats and mustaches to boot). During their set the soda jerk who introduced them (Will Kindrick), served out ice cream and gave it out to the crowd.
It seemed rehearsed but still had room to have fun. At one point Parker started to tie his shoe during the intro of the song, so they just repeated the intro until he was ready. They had the looseness that Aquabats concert used to have, before they were playing along to click-tracks and prerecorded sounds(not that that's a bad thing). "We're like a punk band, we keep it raw" -Scout.

First they were going to go on at 8:30, then 9:00. They ended up not going on until around 9:40-ish. Because of the late start, they had to cut quite a bit of songs. But it was still a fantastic show.

And half the band "promised" me that the Vegas show will be MUCH better and awesomer.

Added Songs:
Humble Pie ("I think the crowd was sad we weren't a country band after we played that song" -Johnny B)

Excluded Songs:
Down in a Barrel
Esploded
Monster
I Like It

On a related note, I wanted to share this live concert recording of their Malibu show from last year.
For an album recorded from the pocket of a dancing man, It sounds pretty good.
